In high-conflict separations or divorces, parenting issues often arise. The parties may rush to court for resolution—this often costs the parties valuable time and money. An alternate strategy to manage such disputes is parenting coordination.
A parent coordinator is a neutral person to whom parties can turn when they cannot reach an agreement in matters relating to their children. They make decisions based on previous court rulings and, while they cannot change the order of a court, they may assist parents in conceptualizing and implementing solutions consistent with court orders. The use of a parent coordinator is often more cost and time effective than going to court.
Carter Family Law Group’s founder is a trained parent coordinator and uses mediation and arbitration to help parents resolve their conflicts.
